2012 Season - Week 18

Aaron wins Conference

A week later than usual after Aaron and George tied on 462 points in the regular season we now know the Conference Champion. The tie-breaker was highest scorer in the wildcard round and the Willoughby Wolves defeated the Brockley Mud Bugs in a defensive struggle 13-5. Congratulations to Aaron, who after 12 years in the league wins his first trophy. BUMS Wildcard Weekend It was a very low scoring week for almost everyone. Current BUMS Champion Daz only managed to defeat 16th seed Dave G by a safety after The Misunderstood failed to supply a team. For the second year running Chief suffered a stunning first round defeat, last year David Stamp the 16 seed beat the Premiership winner 21-19, this year No. 15 Marcus beat No. 2 seed Chief 10-6. Johnnie (#3) outscored John (#14) 10-8 and Craig (13) upset Ron (4) 11-7. Wayne was the only owner to select a team who scored over 20 points. The 5th seed beat the defending BUMSBowl champion and 12 seed Mark 30-7. In another upset David Stamp (11) beat George (6)15-5. Aaron (7) beat AP (10) as AP failed to supply a team from his Canadian mountainside while Andy H (#8) only took the lead on the final field goal by Seattle kicker Steven Hauschka as he defeated Cheryl (#9) 19-16. The best Wildcard team you could have selected would have scored 49 points for just $4m, so why didn’t you play either Flacco or RGIII (6pts each) at QB, Kicker Graham (13), RB Kuhn (12) plus 3 of RBs Harris & Royster or Recs Boldin, Pitta or Jenkins (all 6 each). But you didn’t so the Divisional round is Daz (1) v Marcus (15), Johnnie (3) plays Craig (13), Wayne (5) takes on David (11) and Aaron (7) hosts Andy H (8). Teams to me by 10am Saturday please. NFL Wildcard Weekend All four games were rather disappointing as Cincinnati, Minnesota, Indianapolis and Washington averaged just 10.5 points. Of them only Washington ever lead by more than 3 points but with RGIII really hobbling before his knee twist finally knocked him out it is Russell Wilson who is the last rookie QB standing this year. So it’s Houston @ New England & Baltimore @ Denver in the AFC and Green Bay @ San Francisco & Seattle @ Atlanta in the Divisional round. BUMS on Seats In the same format as last week we will meet at HQ from 9:30pm on Saturday night for Baltimore’s visit to Denver. The second game (Green Bay @ San Francisco) kicks off at 1am Sunday morning & we will watch this on Sunday from 5pm at BUMS HQ followed at around 7pm by Seattle @ Atlanta. We will be at Johnnies on Monday from 6:30pm for the second Sunday game Houston @ New England. As always all are welcome just let the hosts know. DON’T FORGET TO SEND YOUR DIVISIONAL TEAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!
